Groundbreaking

On June 8, the Bloomfield-Mespo Local School District Board of Education and Superintendent Mr. John Sheets, held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Mesopotamia Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room. The BOE was joined by team members from the Criterion Architect, Buehrer Group and the Design Build Contractor, The Mullet Company. The new building will be an 5,718 Sq. Ft addition to the Mesopotamia Elementary. The building will include a 3,500 Sq. Ft. Gymnasium, 404 Sq. Ft. of additional restroom facilities, and 187 Sq. Ft. of additional storage space. The cost of the project is $1,850,000. The district is using grant funds to pay for 81% percent of the building project. Local funds will be used for the remaining 19% of the cost of the addition. The district is expected to be able to take occupancy of the new facility in the Fall of 2024. The ceremony was followed by an ice cream social at The End of the Commons.
