Athletics

Bloomfield High School is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and competes in the Northeastern Athletic Conference (NAC). The conference’s other current members include Ashtabula St. John High School, Badger High School, Bristol High School, Cardinal High School, Chalker High School, Grand Valley High School, Leetonia High School, Lordstown High School, Maplewood High School, Mathews High School, Pymatuning Valley High School, and Windham High School.

Athletics are an important part of the overall educational program at Bloomfield High School. Participation helps students develop teamwork, discipline, responsibility, sportsmanship, and an understanding of healthy competition. We also believe that proper physical preparation is essential to both student safety and athletic success.

Student-athletes must meet all eligibility requirements established by the OHSAA and the Bloomfield-Mespo Local School District Board of Education. Participation in athletics is a privilege, not a right. Student-athletes represent themselves, their teams, Bloomfield High School, and the greater community. Therefore, they are expected to conduct themselves responsibly and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.

The OHSAA does not establish a minimum grade-point average requirement. Therefore, eligibility requirements based solely on GPA are determined by the local school district. To maintain athletic eligibility, students must be enrolled in and earn passing grades in a minimum of five courses during each grading period, in addition to meeting all other applicable OHSAA and district requirements.

We hope every student-athlete enjoys participating, develops meaningful skills, and grows through the athletic experience while taking pride in representing Bloomfield High School.
